Chapter 1: Two Hours Earlier

Behind the City Bank hours before the cops rushed in, and a certain villain clad in plaid came to investigate. The person who caused the ruckus was currently leaning against the wall of the alley behind the Bank. Casually lighting a cigarette with a zippo lighter and bringing it up to her mouth, her green eyes staring deep at the wall of the bank.

The woman blended in perfectly with the darkness of the alley, as her entire attire was black. The only way someone would notice her was if someone walked by and noticed the small light from the cigarette. Her hair was tied back in a pony tail so it would not get in her way when she started what she planned to do tonight.

Finishing the cigarette she walked casually to the spot she was eying before and placed her hands against the wall. After she did this she spat the cigarette butt out of her mouth, she glanced at it and the small light seemed to be grabbed by an unseen force as the butt was dissolved. Smirking to herself she pushed her weight against the wall. The building creaked and moaned as the back of the bank seemed to indent where the woman was pushing. Stopping for a moment to listen to the noise the wall made, she took a step back and gave the wall a light tap with her big toe.

The area where she was pushing made a perfect hole just big enough for her to fit through after her toe made contact with the wall. She peeked into the hole and saw where the rest of the wall went. The perfect circle of wall she cut out was laying gently on the ground mere feet away from the entrance she made. Jumping gracefully into the building, she landed softly on her hands, and backflipped onto her feet again.

The room of the bank she had broken into was unfortunately the store room. "Damn." She said staring at the boxes of unused slips of paper for bank statements. Looking upward she found a light bulb hanging from the ceiling. Pulling the cord that was connected she illuminated the room. From the light the darkness of her clothes seemed to lessen, and seemed to gather back down towards her shadow. Glancing back at the hole in the wall, she waved her hand at it and the piece she cut out with force was gently raised by four small strands of a dark matter. The strands wriggled as they pushed the heavy piece of wall back into place. After they did this the strands flew back towards the woman's shadow.

Walking over to the only door in the room the woman silently opened the door to the rest of the building. When she walked into more of the well lit area of the bank the darkness of her clothes again seemed to lessen, and reverted back to their normal colors. "Fucking lights..." She said as soon as she noticed her costume revert back to its usual colors. The woman was wearing a light blue beret, coupled with a Nine Inch Nails t-shirt and blue jeans. Putting one of her hands up, the woman's shadow enlarged and shot out in all directions, after awhile the lights slowly went out one by one and the woman was engulfed with darkness again. She could not hold the lights back for long however as it took a lot of her own stamina to control her shadow. Hurrying now towards the safe, the woman used the same technique she used on the wall.

However due to the strain that was controlling her shadow she could not knock a hole in the door in one try. It took her three attempts and she finally managed it. Silently slinking into the safe she froze as she heard a familiar sound occur as she put her foot down on the safe floor. Flood lights appeared all around her, and a loud ringing began to occur in the entire building. She looked down and noticed that she tripped the silent alarm. She was unaware of it due to the strain of keeping the main room dark. She said to herself, "Fuck...well this is going to get interesting very soon." From far away she could already hear the sound of sirens approaching.
